edMant AKA Merc

Welcome to edMant.co.uk, the primary location to keep up to date with the latest news, review and releases from edMant, a UK based Trance DJ and Producer who produces and releases track under the alias Merc.  2013 is looking like it will be break through year for Merc. Having taken 8 years off from DJing and producing he is now back , and with 10 tracks already signed since March this year and receiving support from a number of established and up and coming DJ's from the UK and International scene, Merc is a name you are likely to be seeing a whole lot more of in 2013 and the future.  On this site you will find details of forthcoming releases and remixes, be able to get a sneak preview of future tracks and also gain access to some previously unheard remixes of classic trance tracks which are available for free download. We hope that you find this site useful and enjoying reading Ed's views on the Trance scene, DJ's, Labels and some up and coming talents to look out for.

 We caught up with Ed recently and he had this to say about this year so far;

"So far this year has been going pretty well. I'm not really sure why I decided to start sending tracks out again, but I'm glad I did. I've been getting some great interest from labels and DJ's which is always a good sign. It's nice to know that people are enjoying your music. It changed so much since I was sending our tracks before. Gone are the days of demo CD's and painful uploads and sites like soundcloud have revolutionised getting  demo's out to labels. That being said, that also means competition is more fierce for getting tracks signed, and these days you need to be able to produce and DJ to get recognised. Or that seems to be the case anyway. But, if you don't try you don't know do you so you just got to keep on sending them out and hoping people like what you do. Like I say, this year has had a really positive start for me and with a whole load more releases lined up I'm looking forward to getting my name out there.The most important part about the whole thing for me isn't the money, it's about knowing that somewhere in the world there could be a club rocking to one of my tunes. when you think about it, thats a pretty cool thought, even if you're not the one playing them. If I got to the stage where it was me playing them, that would be even better. Lets just hope 2013 keeps going the way it has so far and see what happens."
